History

1904

Handelmij L. Nieuwburg & Zn bv is founded by Leen Nieuwburg in Schiedam, Netherlands. At that time they are specialised in trading with products such as couplings, strainer baskets, gaskets, pump hoses, hoses for cement and gas, plastic and rubber hoses, rubber sheets, hose clips. Their gasket products are manufactured in the company’s own stamping shop – for individual and mass production.

1934

Nieuwburg’s business is extended by an insulation unit. Now L. Nieuwburg & Zn bv is also offering insulation services (thermal, acoustic and fire insulation) for ship building industry (cargo vessels, ferries and yachts). They are also providing services for the petrochemcical and chemical industry and the food and pharmaceutical industry.

1948

Leen Nieuwburg passes on the company to his stepson Kobus Lammering.

1966

Kobus Lammering passes on the company to his son Willem Lammering.
Foundation of the company Ruplako, specialised in the fields of ship restoration and ship construction (panelling, wall finishing, ceilings, floors, hatchway covers, furnishings), insulation, sheet metalwork and joinery. Now Nieuwburg is able to offer an allround-service together with their trade company Handelmij L. Nieuwburg & Zn bv and the services of their insulation company L. Nieuwburg & Zn bv.

1978

L. Nieuwburg & Zn bv moves into a new building in Krimpen a/d Ijssel.

1992

Willem Lammering leaves the company at age 65 but remains a 50% shareholder.

2004

Mr. M.A.Th. Klumpers, who started working in the company at age 16 in 1950 and is holding the other 50% of the shares, sells the company to pinta elements GmbH.
Together with pinta Production S.A. in Courgenay, Switzerland, who is part of the pinta elements group and specialised in the development, manufacturing and supply of standardised and customised thermal, acoustic and fire insulation systems, we are now able to act as a system supplier of products and services to the European marine industry.

2008

pinta Nieuwburg announces the acquisition of the Dutch insulation company UNISOL BV. Administration, planning and management of UNISOL BV will be completely integrated into pinta Nieuwburg BV, Ridderkerk. The workshop of UNISOL BV will remain in Raamdonksveer.
From this location, customers and buyers from the ship building industry are supplied. With the most advanced noise control and insulation solutions for everything from private yachts to cargo ships.

2009

pinta Nieuwburg moves from Krimpen to Ridderkerk. Offices and production site are now under the same roof. Also, logistics from both the pinta Nieuwburg workshops in Ridderkerk and the former UNISOL workshop at Raamdonksveer are now more efficient.
